During a safety briefing, you will get to know your kayak, paddle, route and conditions from your specialized kayaking guide.
Dressed in a neoprene suit, waterproof jacket, boots, poogies (kayak gloves), kayak skirt, & life-vest – you will set out on your excursion.
This kayak expedition is approximately 2.5 hours and departs from Refugio Grey during regular season in groups of 3 – 12 guests.
*Daily Departure Times: 9:00, 11:00, 17:00.
After a safety briefing, you´ll take a rubber boat transfer where you will complete a 1 hour hike in order to access the ice safely. Your guide will help you to adjust your equipment correctly and prepared with an ice axe, crampons, helmet and harness – you will begin this incredible adventure walking for about 2.5 hours on the Grey Glacier
This excursion is approximately 5 hours and departs daily during regular season (October – April) in groups of 2 – 15 guests.
Participants must be in very good shape for this excursion as the 1 hour hike to reach the glacier is challenging. If you have any physical problems such as bad knees, please consider that this may not be the right excursion for you. It is required that you have hiking boots with ankle support, gloves, and sunglasses to complete this excursion and you will not be permitted without these safety requirements

She has an incredible depth of knowledge in everything from mycology to government, from geology to history. She is fiercely passionate about conservation and our planet and has dedicated her life to making our world a better place. Our two porters Filipe and Bastian were both incredibly strong and highly professional. Always in the know on where to set up the tent, they picked the best spot in every site we were at. Also, they were an absolute blast to hang out with after the long days hiking. I cannot recommend this particular team highly enough and if you are passionate about the environment, making the world a better place, learning everything there is to know about glaciers, mushrooms, Patagonia, the history of Chile, magma intrusions and edible berries request them by name.
