Day 1 - Full day puma watching expedition and photography safari.
In the morning, a private transfer will pick you up at your accommodation and take you to the national park along a scenic route through the Patagonian pampas, offering breathtaking views of the Paine Massif.
Your guide will coordinate with the local tracker to define the meeting point and begin the search for these majestic felines. Throughout the day, you will enjoy peaceful walks through various sectors of the park, with endless opportunities to capture unforgettable photos of the landscape and, hopefully, of the pumas in their natural habitat.
At noon, we will take a break at a special spot to enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing the exploration. In the afternoon, we will head to the Chile Nativo Riverside Camp, a peaceful retreat by the shores of the Serrano River.
In winter programs (May-August), the transfer will take you to the Hotel Lago Grey. You will spend the day tracking pumas and admiring the park’s winter landscapes. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the staff and guided to your luxurious private accommodation, equipped with double-height mattresses and warm feather quilts. After a hearty breakfast, we will meet with our expert puma tracking guide, who will take us to the day’s meeting point. These felines tend to roam near Lake Sarmiento and Laguna Juncos, a perfect setting for capturing stunning photographs.
If we are lucky enough to spot them, we will take some photos without invading their space, respecting their natural environment and behavior. Throughout the day, we will explore different areas of the park on foot and by vehicle, always on the lookout for new sighting opportunities.
In summer, with longer daylight hours, we will be able to explore other corners of the park, such as Laguna Azul, where we will enjoy a box lunch surrounded by incredible landscapes and wildlife. In winter, the time for tracking pumas is more limited, but every moment is a unique opportunity.
After a final round of photos, we will return to Puerto Natales, where the experience will conclude. We will take you back to your hotel or accommodation for a well-deserved rest.
