Where it’s located
Rincón Bonito is a remote field in the Ventisquero Valley, within the Puelo River basin in Cochamó, located in the extreme northern region of Chilean Patagonia.

Day 1 - Charter Panoramic Flight to Rincón Bonito – Ventisquero River Hiking Circuit
At 9:00 a.m., a private transfer will pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Varas. One hour later, you will arrive at the Paloma Aerodrome hangar, where you’ll prepare for a private charter flight to Rincón Bonito. Our pilot, Jorge Montero, with over 110 flights to the area, will fly us aboard a 9-passenger Islander Twin Engine. During the flight, enjoy spectacular views of the Alerce Andino, Hornopirén, and Pumalín National Parks, including fjords, mountains, volcanoes, glaciers, and rivers.
Upon landing, we will be warmly welcomed by Verónica Cuevas and Juan Cortés, our local hosts at Rincón Bonito. We will stay in a cozy, self-sufficient mountain house with breathtaking views of the Ventisquero Valley. While we settle in, a delicious lunch will be prepared for us.
In the afternoon, we will embark on a 3-hour hike through native forests and majestic landscapes of the Pumalín and Hornopirén National Parks, exploring the Ventisquero River circuit. Our guide will share with us the history and natural richness of the area, setting the stage for tomorrow’s adventure.

Day 2 - Round trip trekking to the Ventisquero Valley
Today, we will embark on a round-trip hike to the Mirador del Valle Ventisquero. The trail follows an old animal transport “arrieros” route that will take us along the tree line and ridge, opening up to stunning views of distant glaciers and the vast valley below. We will continue through ancient Lenga forests, which thrive in the highlands of the mountains in this northern Patagonia region.
The trail offers several viewpoints at different elevations, providing spectacular panoramas—from the source of the Ventisquero River to the west, to the confluence of the Puelo River to the east. We will pause at a peaceful lookout to enjoy our box lunch before retracing our steps back down the trail.
This evening, we will celebrate our long and rewarding ride with a traditional Patagonian lamb roast, a perfect way to end a day of adventure.

Day 3 - Round trip on Horseback to the end of the Ventisquero Valley
We start the day with a hearty breakfast before embarking on a 22 km horseback ride through the Ventisquero Valley. This route, ideal for beginners, follows a peaceful trail along the river, with gentle walks and trots. Along the way, we’ll cross the Universo, Ventisquero, and Raquelita rivers, visit old mule drivers routes, walk up to a stunning waterfall, and explore forests of centennial alerce trees, always surrounded by majestic glaciers.
After lunch and a well-deserved rest, we will return to Rincón Bonito, where a hearty dinner, great company, and a restful night await us.

Day 4 - Pack Raft the Ventisquero & Puelo Rivers to Puerto Urrutia
Today we will experience a unique adventure. After breakfast and saying goodbye to our hosts at Rincón Bonito, we will leave our luggage with the “pilcheros” (the horses that will carry it to our final destination). After a short walk to the riverbank, we will receive a safety briefing before embarking on our rafts.
We will paddle down the Ventisquero River, enjoying its crystal-clear waters and the variety of birds that accompany us along the way. At midday, we will stop for lunch at a bend in the river, with a picnic prepared by our guide. If the weather permits, we will continue to the charming Puelo Libre Hostal & Pizzería, located in the remote village of Puerto Urrutia, where we will spend the night.
Once at the hostel, we will change into fresh clothes and celebrate together, reminiscing about the day’s adventure. Dinner will be a special moment to share our final evening as a group, in a cozy setting with river views, surrounded by peaceful forest.

Day 5 - Private Transfer & Ferry to Thermal Pools ‘Termas del Sol’ – Return to Puerto Varas
We start the day with a freshly prepared breakfast before heading to Lake Tagua Tagua in our private transfer. After a 20-minute boat ride to Puerto Canelo, another transfer will take us to Termas del Sol, where we can relax in the thermal pools and enjoy the spectacular views.
At the location, we will have the opportunity to have lunch at the café before starting our return journey. At 3:00 p.m., we will head to Tepual Airport or, if you’re staying in Puerto Varas, we will take you to your accommodation. The estimated arrival time is 6:30 p.m. in Puerto Varas and 7:00 p.m. at the airport.

Prices are calculated based on the number of confirmed passengers, reducing the cost per person as more travelers join.
