Itinerario
Día 1
E-Bike Ride to Mylodon Cave + Hike Rupestre
- 1,5 Hour Riding, 32 km / 20 mi
- 4 Hour Hiking, 6.4 km / 4 mi
- 1 Hora Transfer privado
- Noche en Campamento Chile Nativo (BL-C)
Our first day starts cycling alongside Eberhard Fjord to Puerto Pratt, the first Chilean town officially created in 1899 with the purpose of consolidating Chilean territory in Última Esperanza. Continue to Puerto Consuelo, an estancia founded in 1893 by Hermann Eberhard while he was searching for suitable land to farm sheep. From his settlement, Eberhard explored the area and eventually discovered the Mylodon Cave, your next stop! Declared a historic monument in 1968 and a national monument in 1993, the Mylodon Cave holds countless stories of some of the first groups of humans on the continent. Men and women, who we first heard about in 1985 when Eberhard discovered prehistoric Mylodon skin remnants, found refuge from unpredictable weather in the cave while on the lookout for this wild megafauna.
After a stroll inside the cave we’ll hike along the Rupestre trail for the next 4 hours. Along the way, we will be able to admire forests filled with typical Patagonian trees such as Ñirre, Lenga, and Coihue. Additionally, we will discover three hidden caves with impressive cave paintings and enjoy a wide viewpoint, where it is common to observe majestic condors in full flight. Afterwards, our private transfer will take us to the accommodation for today: our exclusive Riverside Camp!
Día 2
Full Day Sea Kayaking Expedition on Grey Lake & Grey River
- 30 minutos en Transfer privado
- 4-5 Hours Paddling, 25 km / 15.5 mi
- Noche en Campamento Chile Nativo (BL-C)
After an early breakfast your transfer will drive you to Grey Lake to meet your kayaking guide.
Here, with views of Paine Grande and Grey Glacier as our morning backdrop, you’ll hear about kayaking safety and paddling techniques.
You’ll paddle Grey Lake for approximately 2 hours, weaving amongst the floating icebergs that have calved from the glacier and been whittled into natural ice sculptures by the wind and sun.
While paddling, take time to look around you: the granite peaks of Paine Grande, Cordon Olguín and Los Cuernos interplay beautifully with the water’s multiple shades of turquoise.
Leaving Grey Lake we’ll begin our descent of Grey River, which snakes through canyons bubbling with rapids and framed by steep rock faces.
Accompanied by views of the imposing Paine Massif, we’ll paddle for 25 km (15.5 miles) down Grey River until it joins the Serrano River. After 4-5 hours of paddling we’ll arrive back at our campsite ready to stretch our muscles and prepare for dinner.
Día 3
Round Trip Hike to the Base of the Towers Lookout
- 2 Horas Transfer privado
- 8-10 Hour Hiking, 22 km/13.6
- 2 Hour Private Transfer to Puerto Natales
- (B-BL)
Today, we begin early with a energy-boosting breakfast to prepare us for our final trek – the base of the iconic Towers. Along with our guide, we take a 2 hour transfer to the Las Torres Sector of the park where our trek begins with an ascent, following the Ascencio River into the Ascencio Valley.
At this lookout point 900 m (2,953 ft.) above sea level, we’ll rest, take photos and have lunch. Our descent is along the same path, taking us back where our private transfer awaits to take us to Puerto Natales.
This hike is demanding and many parts of the trail are steep. This trek is a minimum of 8 hours along challenging, rugged mountainous terrains. This trek is suitable for travelers with a strong physical stamina.
*Chile Nativo Transfers allow us to continue our commitment to sustainability by minimizing our carbon footprint whenever possible. For this reason, Chile Nativo Transfers are semi privarte, sharing among our clients who are coming in or out of the park.

FAQ's
Q: Where do I keep my luggage that I won’t need during my program while I am in the park?
R: The majority of the hotels and hostels will store luggage for their guests who are staying with them prior to and after their travels in the park. If not, we will happily store your luggage securely in our office until you finish your program. Since you will be staying at our Riverside Camp, you may also bring all your luggage with you if you wish.
P: ¿Debería darle propina a mi guía? Si es así, ¿cuánto es apropiado?
R: Tipping can be a delicate subject and many different nationalities have different tipping cultures. Tips or popinas in Chile, are viewed as a reward for good service. When tipping, a good guide and guide assistance who does the job well, has good English and provides a great service, can expect 10 – 15 USD per person per day. It is usual to leave your driver or chauffeur a tip too. Normally around 5 USD per person. Please find below a tipping guide:
-
Guides USD$ 10 to USD$ 15 per person, per day; to be given to your guides directly.
-
Staff (waiters, chefs,Housekeeping USD$5 per person, per night
-
Drivers: USD$10 per person, per day; given directly to your drivers.
-
Porters: USD$10 per person, per day; given directly to your porter
These amounts are merely a source to help you or give you a general idea of what is normal or typical. Of course, tipping is always at the discretion of the group members as to what they deem appropriate for the service they received.
P: ¿A qué hora terminaremos nuestra caminata el último día y regresaremos a Puerto Natales?
R: Upon completing the hike to the base of the towers, your transfer will bring you back to Puerto Natales arriving around 21hrs. You should plan on staying in Puerto Natales the night of finishing your program.
