Day 1 Bus from Natales – Laguna Amarga + Shuttle to Central Sector – Las Torres / Torres Base / Camp Torres
At 6:45 AM, we will depart from the Puerto Natales Bus Terminal directly to Torres del Paine National Park. Upon arriving at Laguna Amarga, the main entrance to the park, you will present your park entry QR code, which is included in your program. Then, you will board a shuttle heading to your refuge (Las Torres Sector).
Here, you will leave your backpack at your accommodation and have lunch before embarking on the first highlight of the Big Circuit Trek: the hike to the Torres viewpoint. At the top, you will be rewarded with the breathtaking view of the Towers. At this viewpoint, 900 meters (2953 feet) above sea level, the three granite towers dramatically rise from the rocky landscape, while a bluish-green lagoon at their base provides a serene contrast. Of course, your effort will be more than rewarded with some of the most breathtaking landscapes of Torres del Paine, experienced by very few visitors to Torres del Paine. We will ascend to the John Garner Pass at 1,200 meters (3,937 feet) above sea level. The famous Patagonian winds are strong, and the views of Grey Glacier and the still unexplored peaks of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field are stunning.
The trail now takes us along the glacier, ascending and descending through forests of fallen trees and beneath the towering, almost muscular granite walls of the Olguín Cordillera. As we approach Grey Glacier, we may witness an icefall o calving (where chunks of ice break off from the edge of a glacier).
