Día 1
Meet the Horses — Ride to Brush Lake
- 10 minutes transfer
- 4-hour ride, walking and trotting/ 16km
- Night at Lake Brush Campsite (BL-BBQ)
We meet at noon at the National Park’s administration and take a transfer south across the Serrano River to a traditional Patagonian farmhouse.
Here, we’ll choose horses to accompany us on our journey to a secluded valley at the border of Torres del Paine National Park.
To get there, we’ll ride across several rivers and trot through landscapes filled with wetlands and lakes, while views of the Paine Massif and its glaciers alter alongside us.
We’ll set up camp on the shores of Lake Brush and enjoy a hearty Patagonian style barbecue.
Día 2
One-way trail ride to Serrano Glacier
- 5 hours riding, walking/ 12km
- Night at Camping Balmaceda (B-BL-D)
After a nourishing breakfast we’ll set off for Bernardo O’Higgins National Park.
Today’s trail is a peaceful one, taking us through humid forests and following the Serrano River until its mouth at the Last Hope Sound.
Our destination is Hostería Balmaceda, where there are wonderful views of the Serrano Glacier as it seems to cascade into the lagoon beneath it.
Here, we’ll leave our horses to their guide’s care, enjoy dinner together and settle in for a good night’s rest
Día 3
Boat Navigation to Puerto Natales
- 10 minutes by zodiac
- 45 min walk
- 3 hours by boat/ 60km (B-L)
Our day begins crossing the river into the Last Hope Sound by zodiac, coming face-to-face with the steeply-descending Serrano Glacier at the foot of Mount Balmaceda (2148 m).
We’ll take a short walk up to the glacier where we’ll board a boat bound for Puerto Natales via the Last Hope Sound. We will arrive to Puerto Natales around 6.00 pm.

FAQ's
Q: Where do I keep my luggage that I won´t need during my trek while I am riding in the park?
R: The majority of the hotels and hostels will store luggage for their guests who are staying with them prior to and after their travels in the park. If not, we will happily store your luggage securely in our office until the end of your program.
Q: What equipment is included in this program? Do I need to bring any of my own riding gear?
R: This program includes all the necessary gear and tack needed for this 3 day ride and expedition. Professional riding helmets, leather chaps, leather gloves, saddle, saddle bags, & dry bags are all included. Prior to beginning your first day´s itinerary, you will stop by our office along with your guide to be fitted comfortably for your gear.
Q: Do you need to be an experienced rider to do this excursion?
R: We consider this ride a great 3 day program for young and intermediate riders. The rides are slow with some gentle slow-trotting and cantering, and your guide will encourage you to go at your pace that you feel most comfortable. The trails are remote and undisturbed and there are portions of the trail where you will ride along cliffs and rocks, peat & mossy areas, and through rivers and high waters. Given the trail conditions, it is still considered a ride that young to intermediate riders will enjoy but it is important that the riders are aware of these details.

Reseñas
This was the best trip I have ever been on in my life. I’ve spent the past 20 years traveling and I have been on several trips, but our 3-day Chile Nativo Horseback Riding trip was stellar. Our tour guide, Benjamin was fantastic, informative, friendly, relaxed and the gauchos who were with us, Olmin and Pato, were also amazing. Thank you all for providing me and my friend the trip of a lifetime!
