Mejor destino de luna de miel: Patagonia, Chile

If you’ve ever traveled to Patagonia, then it’s easy to understand why it made ListsForAll’s Best Honeymoon Destinations. If you haven’t – and you and yours are planning the perfect getaway after saying ‘I Do’ –  let us help you explore a little deeper into why newlyweds make this a top spot for celebrating their new romance.

1. Long Summer Days – During the summer months in Patagonia (December – February), daylight peaks around 17 hours! This means whether you wanna wake up early (like really early!) and hit the trails for a striking sunrise hike or simply take your time and enjoy all the wonders around – there is no rush being here. Just like the vast and endless landscapes, you’ll have all the time in the world to make some unforgettable first memories together in Patagonia. On the other hand, traveling to Patagonia in the winter months (mayo - agosto) gives you some of the longest nights…the perfect reason to stay in bed longer.

¨We arrived to Refugio Dickson in Torres del Paine around 10PM and there was still daylight. My fiancé and I were exhausted but we didn’t want to sleep… we wanted to explore this incredibly peaceful place. We took our sleeping bags down to the lake shore where we sat and enjoyed a well-deserved cold beer while listening to the glaciers move all around us. We never slept – we stayed up all night mesmerized by the twilight skies. It was a moment I’ll never forget…¨

-Alice & Luis on their best moment in Torres del Paine

2. Stunning Glacier Backdrops – Glaciers have carved some of the earth’s most stunning landscapes and Patagonia ranks high on the glacier list! Beautiful, intense glacial blue tones make for an incredible sight during an exciting ice hike, private honeymoon excursion, or boat navigation sailing through icebergs to the glacier’s giant ice walls; the perfect backdrop for sharing an unforgettable picture-worthy kiss.

3. Fine Wine & Wild Horses – Chile’s geography offers diverse territories for some of the best vineyards nestled in the valleys of Maipo o Aconcagua (among several others!).  Chile’s wine industry is an important element in the country’s identity and culture. Here in the south you can savor a rich cabernet sauvignon o bordeaux blend while you watch some of the last Patagonian wild horses run free….we promise this isn’t something made up. Here it’s just enjoying everyday life in Southern Patagonia….

4. Cold, Romantic Nights – Take off those hiking clothes and hang them to dry (more than likely they’ll be wet if you catch Patagonia on a good day). After a long day’s hike, what’s better than a hot shower and a good night’s rest next to your other half? Patagonia and Torres del Paine has some of the best luxury hotels and accommodations including the exclusive Campamento a orillas del Río on the shores of the Serrano River. And when temperatures at night can drop down to 0°C what better way to warm things up than sharing body heat under fresh down covers and crisp linens. Enjoy a romantic sunset as the burning horizon falls against the famous Paine Massif.

5. Some of the Freshest Seafood – Chile has some of the best seafood and several traditional dishes such as ceviche, centolla (king crab), salmon, sea bass, oysters, and many more favorites which can be found on just about any menu! Seafood has been known to increase sex drive and fertility in couples giving you another reason to enjoy every bite and making Chilean cuisine sexier than ever.

Amazing trip! We joined the Torres Del Paine 7 day O trek tour - note that this tour is not a complete O Trek but skipping the part from Camp Frances to Las Torres, which worked in our favour as our holiday is limited and we won’t miss much. Our guide, Debbie was knowledgeable and amicable, and very passionate about hiking. Unfortunately I fell sick during the hike and wished to leave a day earlier than planned. Debbie and Chile Nativo quickly rearranged transportation for us and was very helpful. Throughout the whole process Chile Nativo was very responsive. We had a memorable journey and I would highly recommend Chile Nativo.

Fantastic experience! We were booked with Chile Nativo via Swoop and had a wonderful experience. Our guides, Tim & Lucile, were awesome. We really enjoyed their company. They were very knowledgeable about the region (the history, animals, landscape, etc). Highly recommend.

I booked the independent, self-guided Torres Del Paine trek with Chile Nativo’s help and was so glad I did. When I looked to book on my own, everything was all reserved in Torres Del Paine and Chile Nativo was the only agency that could help me find a spot still. To still be able to go on the trip when I wanted to go, to not have to spend so much time planning all the logistics, to get a local’s recommendations on the best way to do the trek…but STILL get to do the trek on my own was amazing and worth every penny. In particular Paolina at the agency was incredibly helpful. I would recommend this agency to anyone looking to hike in Torres del Paine.

Hiking in Torres with Pepa is like walking with your smartest and wisest friend. She has an incredible depth of knowledge in everything from mycology to government, from geology to history. She is fiercely passionate about conservation and our planet and has dedicated her life to making our world a better place. Our two porters Filipe and Bastian were both incredibly strong and highly professional. Always in the know on where to set up the tent, they picked the best spot in every site we were at. Also, they were an absolute blast to hang out with after the long days hiking. I cannot recommend this particular team highly enough and if you are passionate about the environment, making the world a better place, learning everything there is to know about glaciers, mushrooms, Patagonia, the history of Chile, magma intrusions and edible berries request them by name. Thank you to all three of you for making our experience so special and I hope our paths cross again.

Our Torres Del Paine Plus trip was fantastic! A great crew of newly-made friends, guided by Izabella “La Professora”, on a journey beyond expectations. What a great time, a balance of hiking and touring. DO NOT miss the pumas!!! I will definitely go with the Chile Nativo team again, and thanks to Nestor & Juan too!
