Where it’s located
Tierra del Fuego is an archipelago located at the southern tip of South America, shared by Chile and Argentina. It is separated from the continent by the Magellan Strait. Its location makes it one of the most remote and extreme destinations on the planet.
History, Nature and Adventure
Explore the nature once inhabited by the Selk’Nam natives and learn about the unique history of the pioneers of this island. Ride along routes and distances of your choice, with vehicle assistance along the way. A journey for those seeking a relaxing yet active outdoor adventure! Ideal for beginner and intermediate cyclists who will pedal along little-visited paths and spend their afternoons in Porvenir and in an authentic country house.
Day 1 - Pick up at Hotel – Ferry Crossing to Porvenir – MTB Baquedano Mountains and visit the Estromatolitos Park
We will begin our journey with a private transfer from your hotel in Punta Arenas to the ferry dock in the northern part of the city. At 9 AM, we will cross the legendary Strait of Magellan on a 2.5-hour voyage through waters rich in exploration history. Navigators like Magellan, Drake, Fitz Roy, and Darwin sailed these seas under extreme conditions.During the journey, you’ll have the opportunity to spot black-browed albatross, giant petrels, royal cormorants, seagulls, as well as austral dolphins and playful sea lions.
Upon arrival, we will begin our cycling excursion through the Baquedano Mountain Range, traveling along ancient paths and dredgers to the Swan Lagoon, Green Lake, and the Stromatolite Park. We will have time for photos and enjoy a box lunch before returning to Porvenir, where we will stay in a local lodge or hotel. We will end the day with a delicious dinner and a well-deserved rest.

Day 2 - See a colony of King Penguins – Ride through Stone forests on MTB – ride at the beach and the forest
Today, cyclists can choose between two MTB routes. The first option begins with a visit to the King Penguin Colony, a private reserve where these majestic birds stay year-round thanks to the rich surrounding waters. From a safe distance, we will enjoy a unique experience in close contact with them. Next, we will cycle from Estancia San Sebastián, passing through an extreme landscape with petrified trees. With vehicle support available, we will progress based on our strength and the weather conditions. At the end of the ride, we will stay at Estancia Kaitien, where we will experience rural life with sheep shearing, cattle herding, and a traditional barbecue. There will also be options for fishing, horseback riding, and cycling around the estancia.
The second option takes us to the village of Cameron for a cycling route through pampas, forests, and the coast, crossing rivers and estancias. We will explore archaeological sites of the Kawésqar people and learn about their history in Patagonia.
Our day ends at the Casa Museo Alberto Baeriswyl, a 1920s residence by the sea that blends history and hospitality in a unique atmosphere.

Day 3 - Go to Cerro Sombrero – Ferry Crossing at Primera Angostura – Transfer to Punta Arenas
After a hearty breakfast, you’ll have the option of a short bike ride before we take our transfer to the town of Cerro Sombrero, where we’ll explore the city and its attractions.Next, we’ll board the Bahía Azul ferry to cross the Strait of Magellan via Primera Angostura, the narrowest part of the strait. If we’re lucky, we might spot some terrestrial and marine wildlife during our short ferry ride.
Once back on the mainland, we’ll stop at the historic San Gregorio ranch, once an important regional cattle farming hub, to learn about its history and capture some unique photo opportunities. Our journey concludes when we return to Punta Arenas in the afternoon.
