An Ally of Transformational Travel

It is an honor to be an ally of the Transformational Travel Council. As we begin to look at travel differently due to these changing times, we find it important to make meaningful changes, take powerful actions, and connect in purposeful ways in terms of  how we should travel again and how we, as leaders in the travel industry, should reevaluate the way we operate and bring travel experiences to our clients and guests. We feel that the best journeys are the ones that impact us in powerful and purposeful ways while engaging us with the local culture, communities, and customs of a region.

WHAT IS TRANSFORMATIONAL TRAVEL?

¨Transformational travel is intentionally traveling to stretch, learn and grow into new ways of being and engaging with the world.¨

Transformational travel (TT) is more than just a feeling or a moment. It is more than that flush of happiness and wonder that comes from a special experience and connection, and what that is, is up to you. The word transform means to “undergo a change in form;” to change not the appearance, but the very form of one’s existence. 

Travel joins other catalysts for personal transformation and new lifestyle choices, from family and relationships to life events, personal health, etc. To be further explored, travel can be catalytic in a handful of areas: relationships, ecological footprint, consumer and travel choices, social purpose and philanthropic commitments, lifestyle and time management choices, and mindful, contemplative practice.

WHAT DOES CHILE NATIVO LOVE MOST ABOUT TTC? 

As part of their philosophy, the Transformational Travel Council encourages ALL of us to Travel with H.E.A.R.T.

HUMBLE Have an empty cup mentality, foster an approach of equality, learning, understanding, and be fully open to the power of connection.

ENGAGED Be a participant not a spectator, take responsibility for your role in your journey, bring a growth mindset, and be pro-active in creating your experience.

AWAKE Pay attention, be actively attuned (awake) to/(aware of) the power and complexity of internal and external circumstances/reactions, as well as the internal and external effects of our choices.

RESILIENT Be willing to ready to embrace challenge and disorientation, accept difficulty (proactively and re-actively) in order to access better experiences, stretch, take time to reflect and identify growth opportunities.

THANKFUL Adopt a gratitude mindset, when we’re thankful we’re thoughtful, better stewards, and everyone is happier.

HOW CAN I BENEFIT FROM TRANSFORMATIONAL TRAVEL?

Most people can agree that travel can be transformative. We believe it’s superpowers are realized when actively engaged, applying a growth mindset, and developing an outcome-based travel practice. This approach can accelerate the process and amplify the positive impact on your life and the lives of others. Travel doesn’t become truly transformational until you have taken time for deep reflection, meaning-making, and taken inspired-action in your life!

Allies of the Transformational Travel Council are thoughtful, heart-centric, and conscious practitioners, destinations, and organizations that are actively co-creating a more ethical, emotional, equitable, and ecological travel dynamic.

We encourage you to support these organizations and practice the transformational travel philosophy when making choices related to your travel. Amazing trip! We joined the Torres Del Paine 7 day O trek tour - note that this tour is not a complete O Trek but skipping the part from Camp Frances to Las Torres, which worked in our favour as our holiday is limited and we won’t miss much. Our guide, Debbie was knowledgeable and amicable, and very passionate about hiking. Unfortunately I fell sick during the hike and wished to leave a day earlier than planned. Debbie and Chile Nativo quickly rearranged transportation for us and was very helpful. Throughout the whole process Chile Nativo was very responsive. We had a memorable journey and I would highly recommend Chile Nativo.

I booked the independent, self-guided Torres Del Paine trek with Chile Nativo’s help and was so glad I did. When I looked to book on my own, everything was all reserved in Torres Del Paine and Chile Nativo was the only agency that could help me find a spot still. To still be able to go on the trip when I wanted to go, to not have to spend so much time planning all the logistics, to get a local’s recommendations on the best way to do the trek…but STILL get to do the trek on my own was amazing and worth every penny. In particular Paolina at the agency was incredibly helpful. I would recommend this agency to anyone looking to hike in Torres del Paine.

Hiking in Torres with Pepa is like walking with your smartest and wisest friend. She has an incredible depth of knowledge in everything from mycology to government, from geology to history. She is fiercely passionate about conservation and our planet and has dedicated her life to making our world a better place. Our two porters Filipe and Bastian were both incredibly strong and highly professional. Always in the know on where to set up the tent, they picked the best spot in every site we were at. Also, they were an absolute blast to hang out with after the long days hiking. I cannot recommend this particular team highly enough and if you are passionate about the environment, making the world a better place, learning everything there is to know about glaciers, mushrooms, Patagonia, the history of Chile, magma intrusions and edible berries request them by name. Thank you to all three of you for making our experience so special and I hope our paths cross again.

Our Torres Del Paine Plus trip was fantastic! A great crew of newly-made friends, guided by Izabella “La Professora”, on a journey beyond expectations. What a great time, a balance of hiking and touring. DO NOT miss the pumas!!! I will definitely go with the Chile Nativo team again, and thanks to Nestor & Juan too!
